In a moment in History in which the use of online dispute resolution methods (ODR) are in rise with a current massive use due to the social distancing and isolation caused by de COVID-19 pandemic, is relevant reviewing notions linked to these practices and its ethical implications for professionals. This article, also, proposes the study of online mediation, since mediation is usually a previous requirement to access jurisdiction along Latinamerica and many legal professionals were compelled to migrate to online mediation in this context. Highlighting the relevance of the study of the ethical duty of technological competence of legal professionals in order to successfully achieve adequate dispute resolution methods deployed online.
